And we're back!

Long time no update. So what's new?

For me, a whole lot.

According to this the game's first announcement post happened 89 days ago. In that time I've moved twice, been on 5 flights, a 16 hour car trip, and have spent a week each in 4 different states. Life gets a bit crazy sometimes.

For the game? Pretty much nothing.

Now that life's craziness is starting to settle down again I did manage to take a look at the game this weekend. I was fairly pleased with what I saw looking at it with fresh eyes. The code had some obvious sore spots, but it wasn't such a rat's nest that I couldn't get back into it fairly quickly.

I spent a lot of today working on the wall and furniture placement. Both are far more exact and easier to use now. I was also able to refactor the code for each, making the addition of future features easier, and smashing a bunch of bugs in the process. I've got a couple additional bullet points for each item I still want to implement, but both are nearing their finished state.

I also spent a bit of time working on some UI improvements. Working through the featureless stand in buttons I had been using during development, and swapping them out for actually descriptive icons and menus.

I'm still aiming for a November release, but coming back to the game I was impressed by the stability and usability. If I can work through a few more issues I might be able to get a beta release out a bit earlier to try and get some testing and feedback.

Hopefully I'll be back with another update sooner than three months next time.
